Job summary

Keysight Laboratories in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Researcher to invent and validate cutting-edge PIC technologies. You will perform theoretical analysis, device simulations, PIC layout, and component measurements, driving innovations into Keysight products and customer solutions.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team across mm-waves, photonics, mechanical design, and software, contributing to a dynamic research portfolio and on-site collaboration at our

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (Photonics/Electrical Engineering/Optics/Physics)
• Demonstrated ability to perform innovative research in integrated photonics
• Strong understanding of optical waveguide theory (mode solving, confinement, polarization, dispersion)
• PIC simulation, design, and layout experience (RSoft, Lumerical, Tidy3D, IPKISS, KLayout)
• Extensive hands-on PIC component characterization experience
• Familiarity with die- or wafer-level probing of PIC devices
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Identify new technologies early and how they can be harnessed for Keysight
• Invent measurement concepts or implementations to impact Keysight’s businesses
• Implement concepts in hardware and software to prove feasibility
• Collaborate with businesses to transfer technology into commercial products
