Lumina Corp is building a visible-light photonic integrated circuit platform and seeks a Photonics Fabrication and Test Engineer to turn concepts into repeatable, high-yield fabrication flows. The role spans process development, integration, metrology, yield, and close collaboration with design and test teams.
You will own core cleanroom steps, drive metrology loops, and push for manufacturability with hands-on lab work and data-driven iteration.
Lumina Corp is building a visible-light photonic integrated circuit (PIC) platform, bringing high-performance modulators and related devices from lab to product. We’re looking for a Photonics Fabrication and Test Engineer who can turn device concepts into repeatable, high-yield fabrication flows and continuously improve them.
This is a hands-on role spanning process development, integration, metrology, and yield, working closely with design and test to close the loop fast.
Develop, own, and improve end-to-end photonics process flows (process integration, recipe development, yield improvement)
Run and refine core cleanroom steps (as applicable): lithography (photo/e-beam), etch (RIE/ICP), deposition (PECVD/Thermal Evap), lift-off, cleaning, anneals
Establish robust process windows, controls, and documentation
Drive metrology + feedback loops (profilometry/ellipsometry/SEM/AFM/optical inspection, etc.) to correlate process to device performance
Collaborate across fabrication, design, and characterization to improve performance, repeatability, and manufacturability
Run post-fabrication test and characterisation flows to measure design performance.
PhD in Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
2+ years hands-on semiconductor/photonics fabrication process experience (industry, lab, or foundry)
Expert in EBL, ICP-RIE, PECVD, Thermal Evap, SEM (and other typical metrology tools)
Experience working with measurement stages, optical and electrical probe alignment, data management.
Strong fundamentals in process engineering: process control, recipe development, documentation discipline
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex process issues end-to-end
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, flexible environment with high ownership
Health-care, Vision, Dental Coverage
Training & Development
Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
