WTSP-TV Tampa, a TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate, is seeking a highly skilled Photojournalist capable of creating shareable and compelling content for television, social media, and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate can tell great stories independently or as part of a team, is familiar with the latest photography and editing tools, and proficient with live news-gathering equipment. Ability to participate in live on-air and streaming broadcasts is essential.

Current driver's license and the ability to operate a news gathering vehicle are required.

Responsibilities
  • Capture video and audio that produce engaging news, sports, features, and documentary stories under tight deadlines.
  • Operate ENG trucks or IP-based live units (TVU) when assigned.
  • Work independently or in teams for daily news assignments.
  • Participate in editorial meetings, contribute story ideas.
  • Use creative techniques like graphics, viewer pictures, and webcam interviews to enhance stories.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of newsroom experience preferred.
  • Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems.
  • Flexible schedule, reliable, and dependable.
  • Proven ability to generate creative, engaging live shots.
  • Active NPPA membership is a plus.
  • Strong news judgment, writing, photography, and non-linear editing skills.
  • Knowledge of EDIUS or similar editing systems preferred.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to handle live, breaking news calmly.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., occasionally up to 80 lbs., with or without accommodation.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate news gathering vehicles.
