Part-Time Instructor Pool (Noncredit) - Photography WorkforcePreparation

Basic Functions


EssentialFunctions of Position

Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environmentwhich emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages freediscussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties ofPart-Time Noncredit faculty members are related to curriculum andteaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classesas determined by the department. Part-Time Noncredit faculty arerequired to be available to students outside of class.

The starting noncredit adjunct rate from salary table 25 is $73.59per hour-Lecture and $55.20 per hour-Lab. If you have an advanceddegree, the rate is $76.73 per hour-Lecture and $57.54 perhour-Lab.

Education and Experience


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for thediscipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Boardof Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Facultyand Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.

The minimum qualifications for disciplines on this list are anybachelor's degree or higher and two years of professionalexperience, or any associate degree and six years of professionalexperience. Professional experience is required when the applicantpossesses a master's degree. The professional experience requiredmust be directly related to the faculty member's teachingassignment.

Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated SubjectsAdult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in thesubject matter OR

For courses in an occupation for which the district offers or hasoffered apprenticeship instruction, the minimum qualifications fornoncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation, asspecified in title 5 section 53413.

Possess a combination of education and experience that is at leastthe equivalent to all of the above. Candidates making anapplication on the basis of equivalency must submit an Applicationfor Equivalency in addition to all other required material.

Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverseacademic, socioeconomic, culture, disability, gender identity,sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community collegestudents, faculty and staff.

If the title of your degree as stated on your transcriptsDOES NOT EXACTLY MATCH one of the degree titleslisted in the minimum qualifications listed above, you must requestan equivalency review and submit conclusive supporting documents atthe time of application. Those documents include a completed SBCCEquivalency Crosswalk and a narrative synopsis of your educationalbackground justifying equivalency.
