New Mexico Academy for the Media Arts is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Photography Teacher to guide middle and high school students in developing technical skills, artistic voice, and confidence through photography.

The role offers 0.50 FTE or 1.00 FTE with a January start date for the 2026–2027 school year, and involves facilitating exhibitions and collaborating with staff to advance the school’s media arts mission.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching photography or visual arts.
• Strong knowledge of photography techniques and editing.
• Ability to work with middle and high school students.
• NMPED teaching license preferred; professional photography experience welcomed.
• Passion for the arts and student success.

Responsabilités

• Teach engaging photography courses for middle and high school students.
• Provide instruction in photography fundamentals, composition, lighting, digital photography, editing, and visual storytelling.
• Develop projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression.
• Teach students to use photography equipment and digital editing tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Support student exhibitions, portfolios, competitions, and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and the school’s media arts mission.
