Job summary

Salt Lake Community College invites applications for an adjunct photography instructor. This pooled, non-guaranteed position teaches semester-long photography courses under general supervision of the Associate Dean in Visual Art & Design.

Compensation is $1,056 per instructional unit; adjuncts are hired semester-by-semester with no guaranteed continuation. Official transcripts are required for offers within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five years full-time experience in photography industry.
  • Demonstrated abilities in photography proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Teach semester-long photography classes under minimal supervision.
  • Undergo college mandatory training.
  • Participate in departmental-level training.
  • Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Provide appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments.
  • Return graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.
  • Maintain student attendance records and grades.
  • Conduct evaluations of student performance.
  • Inform students of progress and submit grades by deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful instructional environment.
  • Prepare and submit incident reports for inappropriate student behavior.
  • Maintain professional and collegial behavior.
  • Respond to student concerns promptly (1–2 business days).
  • Maintain professional appearance as defined by policy.
  • Complete all required trainings and know FERPA guidelines.
  • Provide ADA accommodations as requested.
