The Photo Editor plays a key role in delivering high-quality product and lifestyle imagery across brands. This role combines advanced photo editing and retouching expertise with strong visual judgment, technical problem solving, and a focus on creating efficient, scalable post-production workflows.

Working closely with the Photography Manager, Photographers, Brand Teams, Designers, and other creative partners, this role is responsible for editing and refining RAW and finished image assets across product photography, lifestyle imagery, PDP assets, and broader marketing deliverables.

This position requires an in-depth understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, color management, digital imaging, and professional retouching practices, along with the ability to determine the most effective technical approach to a wide range of editing challenges.

The ideal candidate brings both a highly developed eye and a solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to execute established editing direction while also providing thoughtful perspective and recommendations.

A key responsibility of this role is continuously evaluating and improving post-production workflows. This includes identifying repetitive or inefficient processes, developing shortcuts and automation, establishing scalable systems and standards, leveraging emerging AI and imaging technologies, and creating documented workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across the Photography team.

Photo Editing & Retouching
  • Execute high-quality lifestyle and product image editing with strong creative judgment, technical precision, and attention to detail.
  • Balance accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal throughout the editing process.
  • Apply advanced Photoshop skills to solve complex editing challenges.
  • Maintain consistent, color-managed workflows from RAW processing through final delivery.
  • Maintain consistency across image sets, ensuring cohesive exposure, retouching, composition, and overall visual treatment.
  • Edit lifestyle imagery, including model and product retouching, cleanup and removal of distracting elements, and overall adjustments to exposure, white balance, tone, color, and contrast.
  • Perform detailed product photo editing, including retouching, masking, color correction, material and detail preservation, background refinement, and overall adjustments to exposure, white balance, tone, color, and contrast.
  • Prepare final image assets to meet platform, color space, resolution, file format, sizing, image quality, and delivery requirements.
Quality Control & Editing Standards
  • Perform quality control throughout the editing process, identifying and resolving technical, visual, and consistency issues before final delivery.
  • Ensure edited imagery meets established Photography and Brand standards for color, exposure, retouching, product accuracy, image quality, and overall visual presentation.
  • Contribute to the development, refinement, and documentation of editing standards and best practices across product and lifestyle imagery.
File Management & Organization
  • Manage and maintain organized, scalable image file systems, including RAW assets, edited PSDs, JPEGs, PNGs, as well as presets, templates, actions, and other shared imaging resources.
  • Maintain standardized file naming, folder organization, export, and archival processes throughout the post-production lifecycle.
Workflow Optimization & Automation
  • Evaluate post-production workflows to identify inefficiencies, repetitive tasks, and opportunities to improve speed, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and workflows, including Actions, Droplets, Presets, batch processing, templates, and other solutions that reduce manual work.
  • Leverage AI, scripting, and emerging technologies to solve editing challenges and automate complex or repetitive processes where appropriate.
  • Develop and document standardized workflows, processes, and editing systems that are clear, repeatable, and scalable across the Photography team.
  • Bring informed recommendations and outside industry perspective to continuously improve the team's approach to image production.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Photography Manager, Photographers, Brand Teams, Designers, Producers, and other cross-functional partners to support successful image delivery.
  • Translate creative direction, editing notes, brand standards, and technical requirements into polished final imagery while exercising independent creative and technical judgment.
  • Bring a thoughtful artistic perspective to editing, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing informed recommendations related to color, retouching, visual balance, consistency, and overall image quality.
  • Manage multiple editing priorities and high-volume production demands while maintaining accuracy, organization, and consistent quality.
  • Communicate proactively regarding workflow challenges, technical issues, competing priorities, and opportunities for improvement, while sharing relevant techniques, tools, and workflow solutions with the Photography team.

Requirements & Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge and Education
  • Minimum Five (5) years of commercial photography and/or professional retouching experience, including significant experience in consumer product and lifestyle imagery.
  • Strong command of professional photography, retouching, studio operations, and digital imaging workflows.
  • Advanced understanding of lighting, composition, color management, product representation, and visual consistency across both capture and post-production.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong technical execution, refined visual taste, and high-quality product and lifestyle imagery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Exceptional visual sensibility with a strong eye for color, composition, detail, retouching quality, consistency, and overall brand presentation.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex editing challenges and develop efficient, technically sound solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workflows and competing priorities.
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies, develop scalable solutions, and improve workflows through automation and emerging technologies.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to balance independent judgment with established creative direction and standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical and creative recommendations and bring valuable outside perspective and industry knowledge to the team.
Technology
