Job description

Phosphate Line Operator

The Phosphate Line Operator sets up, operates and monitors the phosphating line used to coat parts with a protective layer to prevent corrosion and enhance surface treatment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining our standards of excellence.

Job Details

  • Position Type: Hourly, Full Time
  • Work Hours: 2 nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 2:30pm - 11:00pm
  • Pay Range:
    • $16.00 - $19.00/hour, depending on experience
    • Plus, $2.00/hour shift premium for 2 nd shift
  • Work Location: ES (2551 Wacker Rd, Savanna, IL 61074)
  • Reports to: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Load parts, operate equipment controls, monitor coating process, and adjust machine settings as necessary.
  • Measure, mix, and add chemicals such as phosphates, cleaners, and sealants to maintain proper solution concentration and operating conditions.
  • Inspect parts to ensure coating meets quality standards for thickness and adhesion.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on the phosphating line, including tanks, spray nozzles, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs of production runs, chemical usage, maintenance performed, and quality checks.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to take initiative, demonstrating the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion without supervision.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with team members and internal customers.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
