Job description

Position Description:

Responsible for professionally and courteously serving customers by handling all inbound telephone calls pertaining to individual and business-related tax compliance, delinquency, and general information requests. Candidates should have a bias for doing the right thing and serving others with a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answering incoming phone calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Resolving Tier 1 level issues
  • Reviewing taxpayer accounts
  • Verifying, gathering, and updating key information
  • Educating taxpayers about online resources and current tax policies
  • Submitting requests for payment arrangements
  • Documenting actions taken into multiple systems
  • Participating in team engagement activities
  • Meeting performance expectations
Skills Required:
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Ability to retain knowledge easily
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Goal-oriented and organized
Skills Preferred:
  • Spanish-speaking skills
Experience Required:
  • At least one year of consecutive experience in each of the last two positions within a fast-paced call center
  • Experience in industries such as finance, banking, insurance, or telecommunications (non-technical support)
Experience Preferred:

Experience with process improvement activities, basic math skills, and a background in banking.

Education:
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree or higher
Additional Information:
  • Potential for future permanent employment based on performance, dependability, and cultural fit
  • Must pass pre-employment checks including criminal background, fingerprinting, and tax record checks
  • Candidates must reside within 1 hour of Phoenix or Tucson and attend orientation in person
  • Flexible schedule within operating hours (7:45 am - 5:15 pm, Mon-Fri)
  • Training is 3 weeks, from 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • Position is fully remote; candidates need reliable internet and must transport equipment from office to home
Additional Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of recent call center experience
  • Remote interviews
