Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Bethesda/Baltimore area is seeking a Full Time Phlebotomist for day shift to support Suburban Hospital testing operations. The role involves blood collection, specimen processing, and data entry with a focus on accurate patient registration and safe, compassionate care.

Training and mentorship are available within a collaborative team environment. Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, HS diploma or GED, and ASCP-PBT or equivalent certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years relevant clinical phlebotomy experience in a Laboratory setting is required.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• ASCP-PBT, or equivalent from a department approved certifying agency.

Responsibilities

• Performs various specimen collection and phlebotomy techniques for inpatients and outpatients.
• Operates automated pre-analytical instrumentation or Cobas storage/retrieval system.
• Performs data entry, processing of specimens, billing, and patient registration.
• Serves as a mentor and supports department initiatives and training.
• Provides excellent customer service and safe, compassionate patient care.
