Responsibilities

• Prepares sites for blood draws following infection control procedures.
• Performs patient preparation and ensures correct specimen collection.
• Maintains proficiency to collect routine, timed, stat and difficult draws.
• Maintains positive communication with physicians, patients and staff.
• Centrifuges and processes specimens per orders.
• Documents shift logs, inventory and pickup forms.
• Provides buddy coverage to optimize workflow.
• Monitors supplies and maintains records per regulations.
• Follows infection control standards and PPE guidelines.
