Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection and processing across outpatient service centers in the Greater Columbus Area. Responsibilities include labeling, requisition entry, and assisting with patient registration and accessioning.

Will participate in training others, ensure specimen accuracy, and may perform point of care testing where applicable. High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Ability to verify specimen labeling accuracy and quality.
• Interpersonal and cognitive skills for patient interactions and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection by venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Label and process specimens and dispatch to testing locations.
• Enter test requisitions and assist with patient registration and accessioning.
• May provide training to others in collection techniques.
• Perform point of care testing where applicable.
