Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture, capillary draws and ECG testing to support diagnosis and patient care. You will process specimens and use EMR to ensure timely reporting of results to the health care team.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an accredited phlebotomy program (certification preferred), and the ability to work independently in a team. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited medical phlebotomy program or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture/capillary and ECG testing.
  • Process specimen collection and prepare for transport to external processing facility.
  • Utilize EMR/LIS to audit pending/cancelled tests and communicate results to health care team; escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
