Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician II to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for analysis in the clinical laboratory. This role reports to Laboratory Director/Manager and supports multiple departments as needed.

Responsibilities include data entry, specimen processing across multiple lab sections, keeping work areas clean, stocking supplies, and assisting with point-of-care testing after training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current.
• Minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture for blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Data entry, filing, and telephone communication; clerical duties as needed.
• Process specimens across microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank sections.
• Stock and order routine supplies and maintain cleanliness of storage areas and equipment.
• May assist with point-of-care testing after training and competency.
• May work across departments and shifts as needed.
