Job summary

Valleywise Health is hiring a phlebotomy technician to collect blood specimens for diagnostic testing and provide direct patient care in a busy medical center in Phoenix, AZ.

Under the phlebotomy supervisor, you will perform venipuncture, maintain accuracy, and collaborate with health-system staff to meet patient needs. A high school diploma and a fingerprint clearance card are required, along with strong communication and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card and apply within 7 days of hire; card must be present within 90 days.
• Must demonstrate venipuncture proficiency and strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a phlebotomy technician, you will provide direct patient care by collecting blood specimens that will be used for laboratory diagnostic testing.You will join a team of dedicated phlebotomists who provide exceptional patient care in a busy medical center. Under the direction of the phlebotomy supervisor, you will use your knowledge and expertise to perform quality venipuncture techniques and collaborate with members of the health system to ensure phlebotomy services are meeting the needs of patients and customers.

Hourly Pay Range: $16.87 - $24.88

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED certificate.

Certification/Licensure:

• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.Fingerprint clearance cards must remain valid for the entire period of issuance and must be renewed before expiration.
