Novant Health is seeking a seasoned phlebotomist for a floating pool role across the Greater Winston Salem Market. This PRN position covers nights and weekends with variable hours, offering exposure to diverse sites and patient populations while supporting efficient workflows and high-quality specimen collection.

You will lead by example, mentor teammates, and ensure exceptional patient experiences in a fast-paced environment that values flexibility and accuracy in every draw.

Qualifications

• 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Advanced phlebotomy skills with strong experience.
• Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA required.
• Knowledge of current laboratory terminology and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Experience: 3 years of experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA, required.
• Additional Skills (required): New hire phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skilled in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skilled in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to communicate clearly.
