This range is provided by Quest Diagnostics Employer Solutions. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — discuss with your recruiter for details.

Base pay range: $23.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

The Patient Service Tech is responsible for:

  • Performing blood collection (venous and capillary) from patients of all ages and processing Point of Care Tests (POC).
  • Maintaining supplies and preparing phlebotomy carts/trays.
  • Assisting colleagues with blood draws and POC testing.
  • Ensuring proper aseptic techniques during blood collection.
  • Handling and delivering blood samples according to departmental policies.
  • Performing and documenting POC tests.
  • Completing clerical tasks related to testing documentation.
  • Reporting incidents, supply needs, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Monitoring refrigerator temperatures and reporting deviations.
  • Traveling to health fairs and testing sites as needed.
  • Modifying care based on patient needs, including communication tailored to age, culture, and impairments.
Physical and Knowledge Requirements
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 1-25 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods, with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Repetitive hand tasks and travel required.
  • Use of phone and PC extensively.
  • Fine motor skills, talking, walking, bending, reaching, and balancing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training preferred; certification in phlebotomy preferred or required in certain states.
