Job summary

Novant Health in Greater Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced phlebotomist for a PRN Float Pool role spanning multiple locations. You will contribute to timely specimen collection while adapting to varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of phlebotomy experience, current certification, and a collaborative, patient‑focused approach to care across the system. You will also mentor teammates and support cross-site operations.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Experience: 3 years of experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA, required.
• Additional Skills (required): New hire phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skilled in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skilled in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to communicate clearly.
