Job summary

Prismhr Hire in Lewis Run, PA seeks a Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The role involves collecting specimens, recording results in the BEMR, and supporting physicians and nurses in a clinic setting.

The candidate must hold PA phlebotomy certification (NHA, PBT) and CPR per AHA/ARC, with experience in specimen collection, packaging, and lab shipments. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, with a schedule Monday–Thursday.

Qualifications

• Shall have valid certification to practice in the state of Pennsylvania as a Phlebotomist (NHA, PBT)
• CPR certification in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with specimen collection, packaging and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining records

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient in a clinic setting by measuring the patient’s vital signs, weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR)
• Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, including A&O in-processing, DNA procedures, vaccine programs and PPD updates
• Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the contract or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures
• Ensure that lab requests are completed properly and all reports are returned from the contract lab, provider notified, log results as received, follow up appropriately, and file lab results in lab and medical record
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly
• Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or designee in coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies
• Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies related to the laboratory program

Job description

NEEDED: Phlebotomy Technician

LOCATION: Lewis Run, PA 16738

SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day, Monday through Thursday (except Federal holidays). Sessions shall primarily be scheduled between the hours of 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break or 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must have experience with specimen collection, packaging and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records.
