Quest Diagnostics Employer Solutions is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician in Eden Prairie, MN. The role handles blood collection from adults and pediatrics, performs POC testing, and processes related documentation. Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:30 PM with rotational weekends.

The position offers an hourly pay range of $23.00–$28.00, plus potential annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package starting Day 1 for full-time staff. Travel to sites for events may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and/or performs POC as assigned.
• Cleans and restocks POC supplies and prepares phlebotomy carts/trays.
• Assists coworkers with draws and POC testing.
• Draws venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric-aged patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
• Draws and delivers all blood work within established policy time frames.
• Draws venous and capillary blood into tubes and culture vials as needed.
• Performs and processes all POC tests on patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
• Completes clerical functions associated with POC testing documents.
• Reports incidents/issues to group leader or supervisor in a timely manner.
• Reports supply needs and equipment defects promptly.
• Logs refrigerator temperatures daily and reports deviations.
• Travels to health fairs PSA testing sites as needed and delivers specimens to Lab.
• Identifies patient needs and adapts care to age, culture, language, etc.
• Adheres to organizational competencies.

Phlebotomy Technician - Eden Prairie, MN, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekends

The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for accurately performing and processing, Point of Care Testing (POC), venous and capillary blood collection from adults, infants, and children, and all related functions.

Pay range: $23.00 - $28.00 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Essential Generic Job Functions

• Collects blood and/or performs POC as assigned
• Cleans and restocks POC supplies and prepares phlebotomy carts/trays.
• Assists coworkers with draws and POC testing.
• Draws venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric-aged patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
• Draws and delivers (where applicable) all blood work (stat, timed, routine) within established departmental policy time frames.
• Draws venous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to the purpose for which the blood is to be tested.
• Performs and processes all POC tests on patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
• Completes clerical functions associated with POC testing documents.
• Reports incidents/issues regarding patients or employees in a timely to the group leader or supervisor
• Reports supply needs and equipment defects in a timely fashion.
• Logs refrigerator temperatures daily and reports if falls out of range to the group leader or supervisor.
• Travels and performs phlebotomy duties and POC testing, as needed, at Health fair sand PSA testing sites and delivers specimens to the laboratory.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
• Adheres to the standards identified in the clinics Organizational Competencies.

Contacts: Regular contact with clinic personnel, patients and visitors.

Physical Requirements

• Lift light to moderately heavy objects. The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried. Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
