Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a Phlebotomy Specialist/Laboratory Assistant to perform basic phlebotomy and related duties across patient ages, collect specimens and handle cultures under supervision. A sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• ASCP Phlebotomy Certification or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with hospitalized patients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify and obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages using correct technique and equipment.
• Assist with maintaining phlebotomy area and inventories.
• Maintain specimen tracking and ensure turnaround time requirements are met.
• Contribute to safety, courtesy, quality and efficiency standards.
