Job summary

Qualifications

• Current CPT 1 or 2 certification from California required.
• HS diploma or equivalent with emphasis on science courses required.
• Knowledge of phlebotomy, specimen processing, legal blood draws and chain of custody.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures.
• Handle order entry, specimen processing and chain of custody.
• Assist CPT2 with arterial blood gas collections as applicable.
• Train new lab personnel, externs and students; answer phones politely.
• Interact with patients professionally and ensure safe handling of infectious materials.
