Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates in Suffolk is seeking a Lab Tech (Phlebotomist) to support our cancer care team. This full-time role collects specimens, performs basic chemistry, hematology, and immunology tests, and ensures accurate documentation in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens as ordered and perform chemistry, hematology, and immunology analyses.
• Assist with testing procedures.
• Maintain documentation including test logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists.
• Send specimens to reference labs for non-in-house testing and process orders.
• Update and file daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated lab equipment and perform instrument maintenance.
