CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center seeks a Phlebotomist to collect blood and non-blood specimens, ensuring proper labeling and chain of custody where applicable. You will perform venipunctures, manage specimen labeling, and operate basic lab equipment with attention to patient comfort.

The role requires phlebotomy experience and CPT certification, plus strong computer skills to document and process samples; shifts and travel between facilities may be required.

Responsible for blood and blood culture collection; non-blood specimen collection including urine, sputum, semen samples, throat swabs; chain of custody specimen collection. Perform venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE

• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT).

Experience

• Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible for patient groups from neonates to geriatrics.
• Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, phone system, etc.).
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
• If applicable, collect drug screens (internal and external) using Chain of Custody Process.
