Job summary

Saint Alphonsus is seeking a Phlebotomy Tech for its Baker City hospital. This is a full-time 10-hour rotating shift with occasional weekends.

The role includes registering, collecting, labeling, processing and distributing specimens, data entry, and acting as the lab's central communication point. A high school diploma is required with preference for phlebotomy certification and hospital experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
  • Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Summary & Highlights:

We are seeking for a Phlebotomy Tech for our Baker City hospital.This is a full time 10-hour, mixed shift position, with occasional weekends and a rotating schedule.

What you will do:

As a Phlebotomy Tech at Saint Alphonsus, you will perform the manual tasks involved with registering, ordering, proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages. You will be responsible for utilizing relevant computer programs and perform data entry. You'll serve as the central communication of the laboratory for all incoming requests as well as maintaining quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories and the reporting of results received.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
  • Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.
