Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join our Washington, DC team. This role involves supervising phlebotomy staff, traveling to multiple Patient Service Centers and client sites, and ensuring high-quality specimen collection and customer service.

Strong leadership, communication, and a commitment to accuracy are essential. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years of phlebotomy experience; certification or accredited training is preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites.
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor.
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings.
  • Provide ongoing training to phlebotomy staff as directed; complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
  • Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner.
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and make schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers.
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join our team in Washington, DC.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm (hours vary); Saturdays as assigned

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 3 years or more of experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years or more of phlebotomy experience
  • 2 years or more of leadership experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortably working under minimal supervision
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • At least 21 years’ of age

Pay Range
  • Pay Range: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
