Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Site Coordinator to join our team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while performing skilled specimen collections and serving as the face of the company.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with possible Saturdays. Opportunities for growth exist within the organization and across sites.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification or training preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled specimen collections by venipuncture and capillary methods.
  • Manage patient flow and wait times to ensure timely service.
  • Collect specimens for tests and required analyses.
  • Enter patient information accurately in the data system.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Travel to additional sites as needed.
  • Monitor and report performance or compliance issues to supervisors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm; Saturdays as assigned (must be flexible).

In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided with opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Observe and report any performance, compliance or staffing related issues to supervisors
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary
  • Address any customer service-related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years or more of phlebotomy experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
  • In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Pay Range

Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
