Position Summary

The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy team. This is for Evenings/Nights.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning and organizing phlebotomy workflow and ensuring quality patient care.
  • Effectively manages operations to ensure the phlebotomy team works efficiently to meet the expected turnaround time for collections.
  • Promotes teamwork and serves as a positive influence on the morale of the team.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes processes to improve quality and efficiencies.
  • Is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
  • Ensures all phlebotomists are competent in the process of drawing blood and that techniques are performed according to standards.
  • Assists with developing policies and procedures.
  • Coaches and performs employee evaluations.
  • Prepares employee schedules.
Qualifications

Associate in Medical Laboratory Technology with experience in phlebotomy or high school graduation and successful completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program with Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP or equivalent). A minimum of 3 years experience required.
