Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead the laboratory phlebotomy team in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves managing daily operations for outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy, scheduling, and ensuring precise specimen collection processes.

The candidate will participate in interviewing and onboarding, oversee training, and supervise workflow to maintain uninterrupted, high-quality service for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
• Two years supervisory experience, highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy areas, including scheduling and direct supervision of staff.
• Review and prioritize specimen collection requests to ensure timely collection.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor for our facility to join our Laboratory team. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What you will do in this role:

• You will be responsible for the daily operations of the outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy areas, to include scheduling and direct supervision of all phlebotomy personnel.
• You will review, prioritize and assign specimen collection requests to phlebotomy personnel to ensure timely collection.
• You will be responsible for follow up, reviewing and reporting compliance with infection control, patient identification and competency assessments.
• You will participate in interviewing and selecting candidates, to include orienting and coordinating training of new employees.
• You will prepare schedules for phlebotomy personnel schedule in a timely manner and directly oversee workflow, assess workload, and reassign staff to ensure uninterrupted quality service.
• What qualification you will need:
• Three years phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
• Two years supervisory experience, highly preferred.
