The IU Health laboratories offer extensive services, operating 24/7, performing over 19 million tests annually. Our services extend beyond Indiana, supporting hospitals and physicians nationwide.

Shift and Hours
  • Full-Time, Day shift (Weekends, Holidays, and on-calls required)
  • Four 10-hour shifts
Responsibilities

The Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor performs general laboratory tasks including specimen collection via venipuncture, order entry, blood component prep, specimen receipt, waived testing, pre-analytic processing, and related clerical duties such as entering orders, confirming specimen validity, answering calls, and managing faxes. Responsibilities may also include patient and specimen registration and delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, attention to detail, organizational skills, basic computer skills, and compassion.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework preferred
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and good driving record
  • Understanding of traffic laws in Indiana (if applicable)
  • Proven computer skills
  • Telephone skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
