The Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor provides general laboratory services including specimen collection via routine venipuncture, order entry, blood component preparation, specimen receipt, waived testing, pre-analytic processing, and related clerical tasks such as entering orders, confirming specimen validity, answering calls, and managing faxes. Responsibilities may also include patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, basic computer skills, and a compassionate approach.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred.
  • May require a valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past three years.
  • Understanding of Indiana traffic laws is preferred.
  • Proven computer skills.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
