Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Florida is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood collections for patients of all ages, including neonates, under the supervision of the Manager, Preanalytical Laboratory Services and Phlebotomy Supervisors.

You will contribute to Specimen Processing and Receiving while providing age-appropriate patient care. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a vocational phlebotomy program or at least 3 months of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a vocational phlebotomy program or has at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency with computer skills for patient ID and specimen processing is preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to interact with patients, staff, and providers preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blood collection across all age groups, including neonates and infants.
• Demonstrate knowledge to function in Specimen Processing and Receiving areas.
• Provide patient care appropriate to the age of patients in assigned area.
