Qualifications

• Requires completion of a formal phlebotomy program or equivalent experience.
• 3–4 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen integrity guidelines; laboratory test and medical terminology; current policies and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and other test procedures across age groups following established protocols.
• Provides superior customer service and educates patients and lab clients on test protocols.
• Accurately interprets physician orders to collect high quality specimens.
• Prepares and handles specimens, labels, and distributes to appropriate departments to ensure rapid turnaround.
• Adheres to infection control policies, privacy standards, and LIS/HIS usage.
