Job summary

THOM Thomas Hospitals is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform blood and non-blood specimen collection, including urine and throat swabs, with strict labeling and chain of custody when required.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification is preferred. At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience is desirable, along with ability to operate lab equipment and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) preferred.
• Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood competently and expediently across all patient groups with minimal discomfort.
• Label specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic lab equipment (centrifuges, printers, scanners, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reporting, processing, and faxing.
• Collect drug screens using Chain of Custody Process if applicable.
