Job summary

LabCorp in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Phlebotomy Site Coordinator to oversee Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and client offices across Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Ada and nearby areas. The role supports PSC staff, management and laboratory teams to ensure efficient operations and quality specimen handling.

The position involves phlebotomy duties, specimen processing and travel between sites with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and report any performance, compliance or staffing issues to supervisors.
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
  • Monitor monthly productivity reports and report deviations as necessary.
  • Address customer service related issues promptly and respectfully.
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers.
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Site Coordinator to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday rotational start and end times from 7:00am - 5:00pm with rotational Saturdays

Job Responsibilities
  • Observe and report any performance, compliance or staffing related issues to supervisors
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary
  • Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years or more experience in as a people leader
  • 4 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting
  • Current or previous LabCorp experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as neededAble to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ old

This position will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of activities of Patient Service Centers and client offices within an assigned area to include the cities of Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Ada and occasionally Lansing. The Phlebotomy Site Coordinator will work closely with the PSC staff, management, as well as the laboratory staff and clients to ensure optimal operation of the Patient Service Center and client lab operations. The position will also perform phlebotomy and specimen processing procedures at LabCorp Patient Service Centers and client offices under minimal supervision.

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
