Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venous and capillary blood collection, urine drug screens, and swab collections. You'll ensure specimen quality, proper labeling, and timely processing for in-house and outreach patients.

Responsibilities include preparing samples for testing, packaging for transport, and supporting staff training. A High School diploma and phlebotomy program completion are required or preferred; certification like NHA CPT or BLS is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Phlebotomy program completion preferred.
• NHA CPT or relevant phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab collection, or other specimen collection.
• Ensures quality collection of specimens including container, volume, priority, and identification.
• Resolves unusual test orders by following up with care giver, reference lab, or leadership.
• Receives specimens, assesses priority, ensures identification and type, and processes hospital/ outreach patients.
• Centrifuges, aliquots, and distributes samples to testing areas, including analyzers.
• Prepares samples for off-site testing, assesses container and temperature, completes paperwork.
• Packages samples for courier transport to off-site locations.
• Participates in new associate and student training and orientation.
• Participates in shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity of operations.
