Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, whether for routine health visits or critical health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established procedures. They establish trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and performing venipuncture skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information. Responsibilities may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed.

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervisor's guidance.
  2. Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  3. Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established practices.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
  5. Maintain required records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to policies, safety, and dress code.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work multiple locations with flexible hours.
  • Handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings.
  • Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Training and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, WA.
  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment and customer service preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
