Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking a Phlebotomist II in Roanoke, VA. You will perform clinical and forensic specimen collection, verify patient information, and maintain thorough documentation in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years phlebotomy experience, strong customer service, and the ability to travel between locations with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

  • Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and cover at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to embrace change; knowledge of our business.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Hours: M-F 8:30AM-5:30PM


Duration: 5+ months


Location: Roanoke VA 24015


Job Description

Required Education


  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.

  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.


Work Experience


  • 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

  • 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

  • Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.

  • Keyboard/data entry experience.


Additional Job Details


  • Candidate must have their own reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue (Being dropped off by bus, Uber, rideshare is not reliable transportation).

  • Must be available to work whenever scheduled, BE ON TIME, and stay for the entire shift.

  • Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination
