Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, assisting with health routines and providing insights into health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains a trustworthy environment by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately. The role requires demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. Applicants may be assigned to various locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
  5. Maintain required records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  5. Adherence to policies, safety, and professionalism standards.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  9. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
Training and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Preferred: 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills required.
