Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for insights into health decisions.
- The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- The PSR I maintains direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood safely and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
- Maintains required records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, Washington).
Work Experience
- Minimum of 6 months experience required; 1+ years preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
- Must list home city and commute time on resume; rate is based on direct experience.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite is required; public transportation is not considered reliable.
- Candidates must be within a 20-25 minute commute to ensure punctuality and coverage.
- Must be available to work scheduled hours, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
