Job summary

ST JOHNS HEALTH is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection for diverse patient populations on-site in a hospital laboratory setting. You will assist with LIS ordering/receiving and urine drug screen collections, while supporting clerical tasks and maintaining precise records.

On-site role requiring adherence to safety protocols, patient privacy, and quality standards. BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire; phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as phlebotomist required within an acceptable time frame.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy certification.
• Required licenses: BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood for specimen testing across neonatal to geriatric populations.
• Handles LIS ordering and receiving processes.
• Performs urine drug screen collections.
• Assists in secretarial functions (phone, report distribution, records).
• Disposes of blood and biohazard materials per applicable laws and policies.
