Job summary

UF Health St. Johns is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood draws following established procedures in a safe, minimal-trauma manner.

You will verify patient identification using two identifiers, label specimens in front of patients, and ensure proper documentation with every collection. The role requires adherence to PPE and safety standards, knowledge of test specimen requirements, and collaboration with staff and supervisors to resolve any unusual orders.

Qualifications

• Blood collection per dept. procedures and safety standards.
• Verifies patient ID using two identifiers (name and DOB or MRN).
• Labels specimens in front of patient with required info (Allscripts ID, date/time).
• Follows PPE and safety guidelines; uses PPE per policy and training.
• Resolves unusual orders by contacting providers or supervisors.

Responsibilities
