Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Certification as a registered phlebotomist preferred.
• Minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain venous and capillary blood specimens according to procedures.
• Log and track specimens and patient information in the system; properly identify and label specimens.
• Enter orders accurately and verify requisitions for data entry.
• Operate simple lab equipment such as centrifuge and microscope as needed.
• Communicate with lab and medical staff to resolve specimen issues and labeling.
• Monitor pending work and resolve specimen-related issues.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies for the lab.
• Respond to inquiries regarding test results and specimen status.
• Assist in training new team members as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instruments as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
