Job summary

Qualifications

• WA Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Clinical laboratory experience, or
• Completion of approved phlebotomy program

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy—obtaining blood samples by capillary puncture, venipuncture and arterial puncture, processing specimens.
• Collection and procurement—instructing patients in proper collection of urine and other samples, and preparing samples for reference laboratories.
• Utilizing Laboratory Information System (LIS)—performing waived tests and moderately complex tests under supervision.
• Taking orders for tests and clerical functions—patient registration, communication with customer/clients and lab staff.
