Job summary

Health First in Melbourne, FL seeks a Laboratory Assistant to provide quality diagnostic services and support to the laboratory department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in specimen processing, labeling, and data entry.

You will assist in various sections under supervision, perform CLIA-waived tests when needed, maintain inventory, and uphold regulatory standards while delivering reliable service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Must pass color blindness test and be proficient with required computer applications.
• Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Support Laboratory Manager, Supervisors, Technologists, and Phlebotomists in all phases of lab testing.
• May perform CLIA waived testing as qualified.
• Assist in various lab sections (Blood Bank, Core, Microbiology, etc.).
• Maintain quality control, inventory, and data management.
• Comply with Health First policies and accreditation standards.
