Job summary

Adventist Health Mendocino County seeks an organized lead for the phlebotomy and processing area. You will supervise phlebotomists, interns and staff, update policies, and streamline workflows to protect patient safety and privacy while delivering accurate results.

You will ensure timely specimen processing, mentor staff, and collaborate with physicians and lab teams to maintain high-quality patient care in a critical access hospital setting on the California coast.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required in CA; Preferred in OR and HI.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
• Three years' Phlebotomy experience in acute care environment: Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture and prepares samples for testing.
• Manages specimen accessioning, labeling and processing to ensure identity and integrity.
• Monitors workload, assigns duties, and mentors students and staff in phlebotomy.
• Ensures privacy and safety per PHI regulations and improves workflow efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains a clean, compliant work environment.
