Job summary

Texas Health Resources is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist for the Dallas, TX location. The role supports phlebotomy, specimen processing and limited outpatient services on a full-time 1st shift schedule (4:00am - 12:30pm).

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, phlebotomy experience or coursework, and a preference for PBT(ASCP) certification and hospital phlebotomy experience. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency)
• Six months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy
• PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire preferred.
• One year of hospital phlebotomy experience with specimen processing preferred

Responsibilities

• This position will perform phlebotomy, specimen processing and limited outpatient services.
• Follows laboratory procedures for handling, and processing in a manner which is appropriate and follows safety guidelines
• Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens
• Follows established laboratory test procedures
• Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
