Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory, seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for PRMC Clovis. The role offers an apprenticeship path and compensation based on modalities performed, with regular attendance required.

Responsibilities include professional patient handling, maintaining supplies, on-call duties by location, and accurate documentation. Eligible candidates may start at CLA levels 1–4 depending on experience; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits problem solving to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Assists with hospital communication and on-call duties by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participates in on-call coverage and holiday/weekend coverage as needed.
