Summary The Phlebotomy Apprentice is an entry-level, work-and-learn role combining didactic instruction with supervised clinical training, with a primary focus on phlebotomy and specimen collection. This is a learning role first. The Phlebotomy Apprentice performs all clinical functions under the guidance of experienced educators and department leaders, using each supervised patient encounter as an opportunity to build confidence, refine technique, and develop the professional skills required for independent phlebotomy practice. Competency is assessed formally and incrementally throughout the program, with the goal of preparing the Apprentice to sit for a nationally recognized phlebotomy board examination upon program completion. The Apprentice may not perform any clinical function independently until competency has been formally evaluated and documented by program leadership.
The rate of pay for the apprenticeship will be $20.00/hour.
