PRN phlebotomy position, various hours.

Summary

Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents.
  • Ensures patient/resident safety during sample collection.
  • Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
  • Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations, deploying asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
  • Communicates with patients/residents, collecting health information and answering questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
